Masterson’s Lounge, positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The floorboards were filthy, and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and dirty bathrooms filled the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of urine , putrefaction and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and trash that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The restroom was in even a truly awful state—overflowing , with a shattered handle and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was human excrement .
